Australia PM calls on Kalam

Australian Prime Minister John Howard on Monday called on President A P J Abdul Kalam during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, which lasted 30 minutes, Kalam laid special emphasis on building a world knowledge platform and also sought the cooperation of Australia in it, official sources said.

The President and the Australian Prime Minister also discussed ways and means to increase cooperation in the field of science and technology, biotechnology and education, the sources said.
