Idi Amin

Who: The military ruler of Uganda from 1971 to 1979.
A merciless dictator rumoured to have been a cannibal (the rumours have never been proven), his reign was marked by the massacre of many ethnic groups as well as Christians in Uganda.
About 500,000 people were said to have been tortured and murdered during Amin's presidency.
How he died: He was ousted when he tried to invade Tanzania. He fled to Libya, and was granted asylum in Saudi Arabia, where he eventually died of natural causes.
