Since its arrival, the bikini has been designed and redesigned a thousand times.
Designers have attempted to innovate with a suit made of red hair, one constructed from porcupine quills, and even one with propellers attached to the bra cups!
They began making appearances on the ramp in the 1980s, and continue to be an important, lucrative accessory.
