In an indication that former Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Sanjay Joshi, who had stepped down in the wake of circulation of CDs showing him in poor light, may be brought back, party president Rajnath Singh Saturday said he had full faith in him.

The assertion comes close on the heels of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary's statement that Sangh had "full faith" in Joshi.

"As soon as the allegations were levelled against him, he himself offered his resignation and declared that he will not accept that position in the party until found not guilty. He himself filed a first information report and demanded a probe into the matter.

"Those persons who do not have the confidence can never show such courage. I can never have such a doubt about Sanjay Joshi. I have full faith in him," Singh told Organiser.

Asked whether he will be re-inducted into the party if found not guilty, Rajnath said, "If he had not offered resignation and had not insisted on it, we would never have accepted it. Only levelling allegations does not make one guilty. But Sanjay Joshi has shown the courage by undertaking this tough test".

To a question whether he smelled an attempt to defame the ideological parivar behind the CD scandal, he said, "This possibility cannot be denied. But this should also be taken as a warning. We need to be cautious. Also we should continue to introspect outselves."

Rajnath also asserted that ideology "cannot be a hindrance in coalition politics. There is no need to discard ideology, even if we have to forge alliance with 50 allies."
