Rajnath discusses team formation with Vajpayee

Newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh Wednesday discussed the formation of his new team with senior party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee over lunch.

This was Singh's first meeting with the former prime minister after assuming charge of the party.

According to sources, inclusion of some new faces also formed part of the discussions.

Singh told reproters after the meeting that he would also consult his predecessor Lal Kishenchand Advani before finalising the names, and would announce the new team after the national council meeting on January 20.

The BJP president will have nine vice presidents, seven general secretaries, nine secretaries, one treasurer in his team.

Besides, 80 members in the working committee.

Former Union minister Maneka Gandhi's son Varun Gandhi and former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana also called on Singh at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
