From rocks to rock stars

Could you elaborate on your pioneering 'false infrared' technique?

The process involves making images in the absence of visible light. I usually preconceive what I want the scene to look like, what colour palette I want to work with. I then set up the shot.

I usually use a tripod, compose, and focus for infrared, which is a different focus point compared to visible light.

Then a process of mounting and removing a combination of filters begins. Usually, the images are shot in bright sunlight, post noon and before 3 pm. Almost no postproduction is done to get the rich saturated colours that show up.
