After Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Pappu Yadav, Mohammad Shahabuddin, Sadhu Yadav and Janata Dal-United MP Prabhunath Singh, it is now the turn of Lok Janshakti Party MP Surajbhan Singh to face the long arm of law in Bihar.
The noose around LJP MP Surajbhan Singh is set to tighten in a double murder case. With Samastipur Superintendent of Police S Akhtar in his supervision report mentioning Singh's involvement in a double murder case of April 2006, he is in trouble.
Surajbhan Singh was named in the report as a conspirator on whose instigation the Chunnu Singh gang allegedly shot dead RJD leaders Akhilesh Rai and Ram Udesh Rai on April 13, 2006, under Mushari police station.
The SP report said that Surajbhan Singh and victim Akhilesh Rai were at loggerheads over the issue of a road contract.
SP Akhtar has ordered to study the printouts of a phone call made by Chunnu Singh, who was killed in a police encounter in New Delhi recently, and has asked that appropriate action be taken in the matter.
Akhtar also ordered the arrest of the named accused in the First Information Report of the case.
Surajbhan Singh, a known bahubali, is the LJP MP from Ballia parliamentary constituency in Bihar. He faces several criminal charges including murder, extortion, kidnapping and looting. Surajbhan Singh is considered to be close to Union Minister of Steel and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan.
Some of the bahubali MPs are currently in jails including Shahabuddin, Sadhu Yadav and Pappu Yadav.
