The condition of Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Pramod Mahajan continued to be "critical but stable" on Thursday and there was a "very gradual" reduction in medicines to maintain his blood pressure.
"The condition is still critical but stable and very gradually the requirement of drugs for blood pressure support is coming down. The recovery seems to be very slow but the direction is positive," director (administration), Hinduja Hospital, Anupam Verma, told reporters.
Mahajan, who is being treated at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai after being shot at and critically injured by his brother Pravin on Saturday, continues to be on ventilatory support and dialysis, Verma said.
All other vital parameters remain the same and medically this is going to be a long-drawn affair, Verma added.
