Actor-turned-activist Aamir Khan, who came under fire in Gujarat for his support to Narmada Bachao Andolan on Sardar Sarovar dam issue, said on Monday that he was happy with the Supreme Court's observations, which will establish the ground reality on the issue of rehabilitation of those displaced by the dam within three months.

"I am happy with the judgment because it will help establish the ground reality on this issue (rehabilitation) within three months," Khan said, adding, "If the state government fails to rehabilitate people, they will be exposed."

Khan, who had on Sunday accused political parties of trying to bully him, said the government should have considered the rehabilitation issue.

"Medhaji (NBA leader Medha Patkar) has been demanding for rehabilitation. Now, the core issue of rehabilitation is back in focus." the actor said.

The apex court has threatened to stop work on the construction of the dam on river Narmada if the states in the river basin do not carry out rehabilitation of the displaced people in the true letter and spirit of an earlier judgment.
