Training its guns on the ruling Democratic Front government in the wake of Bombay High Court's decision to revoke the government imposed ban on dance bars, the Opposition on Wednesday demanded the resignations of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Ramdas Kadam described the ruling as a "failure" of the state government and demanded the resignations of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil.

"The CM and Deputy CM should resign owning moral responsibility for the debacle," Kadam told reporters in Mumbai on Wednesday at the Vidhan Bhawan.
