The Starlet and the Filmmaker
Police on Thursday was non-committal on the results of the scientific tests on gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli's former aide, Naresh Pardesi, in which he is allegedly quoted as saying that filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar paid money to Gawli to fix starlet Preeti Jain in the murder conspiracy.
Police said they are yet to come across evidence suggesting involvement of Bhandarkar to fix up Jain in the murder conspiracy allegedly hatched by her with Pardesi to eliminate Bhandarkar.
Sources at the forensic laboratory where Preeti Jain underwent brain mapping and lie detector tests said that the starlet had admitted to having employed an aide of Gawli and paid him Rs 40,000 to kill Bhandarkar.
It also came to light during the tests on Jain, and polygraph and narco-analysis tests on Pardesi that she gave the money to Pardesi. The office manager of Gawli, who came to know of it, informed Bhandarkar, the sources said.
