At least 46 people were killed, dozens missing and over two million people affected by Typhoon Talim which ravaged the east Chinese provinces of Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangxi, local governments said on Saturday.
Torrential rains and flooding caused by Typhoon Talim have claimed at least 31 lives and left 12 others missing in Anhui over the past three days, a provincial official said.
Flood waters and heavy flows of mud and rock also destroyed infrastructure facilities and flattened homes in the Dabie Mountain area of the province.
Preliminary investigation shows that in Yuexi and Jinzhai, 2 worst-hit counties, about 400,000 people suffered from the disasters and nearly 1 lakh acre of cropland were affected.
The tropical storm brought about by Talim weakened on Friday as it passed further inland into neighbouring Jiangxi Province, Xinhua news agency reported.
At least 14 people were killed and 9 missing in Wenzhou City in Zhejiang province after a series of thunderstorms, landsides and cave-ins caused by the typhoon, officials from the local headquarters of flood control and drought relief said.
Talim, the 15th typhoon to hit the east China region this year, pounded Putian in Fujian Province on Thursday, packing gusts at a speed of 126 kilometres per hour.

Meanwhile, 11,789 houses were also pulled down due to the typhoon. The direct economic loss was put at USD 421.7 million, local government said.
Meanwhile, a separate Xinhua report from Nanchang, capital of Jiangsu province, said landslides triggered by the typhoon killed 1 person, injured 5 and left 15 missing in the Lushan Mountain area of Jiujiang City.
Two houses on the foot of the scenic Lushan mountain were destroyed by a landslide on Friday night, burying 11 people. Heavy downpours have inundated parts of Jiujiang City, about 20 km from Lushan Mountain, and
about 200 people have been evacuated.
