Amidst the National Democratic Alliance's demand for his ouster, Bihar Governor Buta Singh said on Tuesday that he accepted the Supreme Court's judgement terming the dissolution of Bihar Assembly as unconstitutional with a 'deep sense of humility' and it should be respected.

"The Apex Court's judgement is supreme and acceptable to all," Singh told reporters when asked to comment on the issue.

His reaction comes in his first face-to-face interactions with reporters in front of Raj Bhavan in Patna after he flagged off trucks carrying relief materials for the earthquake victims in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan, arranged by Indian Red Cross Society.

Chief Secretary G S Kang, who was also present, said the Governor had contributed Rs 10,000 from his personal fund for the quake-hit victims.

Singh, however, avoided questions when asked whether he would resign, owning moral responsibility for the dissolution of the House.

According to Raj Bhavan sources, the governor was likely to leave for New Delhi later on Tuesday to meet an ailing relative. During his stay, he may meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

The sources claimed that the governor had decided to wait for the full order of the Supreme Court before deciding what to do.
