Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar is likely to stake claim in two or three days to form a government in Bihar with support of the rebel Lok Janshakti Party legislators, a senior JD(U) leader said.

The move comes in the wake of Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas Paswan's dilution of his stand on the issue of taking support from secular parties.

He said in New Delhi on Sunday that he was not averse to taking Rashtriya Janata Dal's support to form a government in Bihar.

JD(U) and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders busied themselves in efforts to cobble up a government to be led by Nitish Kumar.

The JD(U) leader told rediff.com on Sunday that Nitish is likely to meet Bihar Governor Buta Singh  in two or three days over the matter.

Another source said that top party leaders held a meeting in New Delhi on Sunday in this connection and would meet again on Monday to finalise the party strategy.

He said that some JD(U) leaders were camping in Ranchi and were in close contact with rebel LJP legislators.

Nitish Kumar was projected as National Democratic Alliance's chief ministerial candidate in Bihar assembly elections.
