Close on the heels of the massive undersea quake that struck Indonesia on Monday, a 5.7-magnitude temblor was registered near the same area on Tuesday.
The tremor, reports said, was centered about 620 km south-southeast of Banda Aceh.
The site of the latest quake is near the Indonesian island of Nias.
Some 2000 people are feared killed in Monday's earthquake, Indonesian officials said.
Details are awaited.
