A 67-year-old Romanian woman has given birth, according to reports.
Adriana Iliescu, who had undergone fertility treatment for nine years before becoming pregnant, is the oldest woman known to have birth.
The girl was born prematurely by Caesarean section after her twin sister died in the womb, the BBC quoted hospital sources as saying.
The surviving infant weighs just 1.4kg and is still in intensive care, but breathing normally, a spokeswoman at the Giulesti Maternity Hospital in Bucharest said.
