Chamba cut off from rest of the country

Landslides caused by heavy rains have blocked the Chamba-Pathankot highway, cutting off the Chamba region in Himachal Pradesh from rest of the country, officials said on Friday.

Heavy downpour on Thursday night triggered many landslides at different points along the highway.

Work is on to have the highway reopened, the officials said.
