S A R Geelani shot at and injured

S A R Geelani, who was acquitted by the Delhi high court in the Parliament attack case, was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen in Vasant Kunj area on Tuesday evening.

Geelani is a professor of Zakir Hussain College of Delhi University.

Geelani has been admitted to the emergency ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in a serious condition. He has five bullet wounds.

The special cell of the Delhi police, which investigated the December 13, 2001, Parliament attack case, is looking into the incident.

Delhi's borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have been sealed in a bid to nail the culprits, police said.

Delhi police had filed an appeal against the acquittal of Geelani in the Supreme court. The matter that is still pending in the court.
