Over 200 arrested during raids in dance bars in Mumbai

Over 200 people, including 90 bar girls, have been arrested during raids in 12 dance bars in western Mumbai, a senior police official said on Thursday.

As many as 12 dance bars were raided on Wednesday night following a tip-off, but only six in Powai and Saki Naka areas of the city were found violating the rule, Deputy Commissioner of Police Arvindra Senganotar told PTI.

Besides 90 bar girls, those arrested included 111 customers and bar staff, he said adding, they have been booked under the Indian Penal Code and the Bombay Police Act.
