The US on Wednesday condemned the unprecedented bombings across Bangladesh, saying the incident underscored the 'savagery of terrorism' and global dimensions of the 'terrible' scourge.
Extending condolences to the families and friends of those who were injured or who had lost their lives, it said 'the random nature of these blasts underscores the savagery of terrorism and the global dimensions of this terrible scourge for people from all religions and all walks of life.

"We hope the Bangladesh government will succeed in bringing to justice the perpetrators and organisers of this heinous crime," a spokesman for the US Embassy in Dhaka was quoted as saying by private UNB news agency.
Over 400 small bombs, suspected to have been planted by a banned Islamic militant group, exploded near simultaneously in almost all Bangladeshi districts on Wednesday, killing 2 people, including a child, and injuring at least 140.
