The Maharashtra government late on Tuesday night decided to include the dance bars in Mumbai under the recently announced ban on dance bars in the state.

A decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting, sources said.
"We will disclose our stand only after the meeting," a Dance Bar Owners' Association official said.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who also holds the home portfolio, said the ban was in the larger interest of the state.
There are over 300 dance bars in Mumbai alone.
