His love also brought a fair share of problems. His wife could not understand his passion and this led to a few tiffs. "Now everything is alright. They know how deep I am into it," he says with a laugh.

Kanekar now wants to start a museum in Mumbai dedicated to Ganesha.

"I have spoken to many people. In fact, the government of Goa and Idugunji temple in Karnataka have come forward to help me. But then I will have to have the museum there, which I don't want. I want it to be in Mumbai."

He is also looking to apply for a Guinness record. "It is a long process. I have started yet. But something should happen soon."
