His journey started in 1979, when he came "across a stone that attracted me. I picked it up and brought it home to keep as a showpiece".
"A few days later I had a dream in which I was told to worship the stone.
Later when I studied the stone carefully I could see a trunk, the belly and the ceremonial thread and ever since then I started collecting Ganeshas."
Since then he has travelled throughout the country, mostly on his own expense, trawling through knickknack shops looking for beautiful Ganesha idols.
