The National Democratic Front of Bodoland has said that it is ready to hold talks with the Centre to achieve its goal of "sovereignty".

Spokesman S Sanjarang said on Monday that NDFB president D R Nabla, while addressing cadres on the occasion of NDBF's 18th Raising Day on October 3, had said that the outfit was "seriously considering the ceasefire offer made by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and will convey its decision within a few weeks".

Nabla has also appealed to all cadres of the NDFB and the Bodo people in general to prepare for talks and secure "freedom either through peaceful and democratic means or through a prolonged struggle".
