Paper lanterns, known as kandeel or akashdeep, also add shine to Diwali.
In the old days youngsters used to sit the night before Diwali and make these lanterns with paper and cane sticks.
Today markets are flooded with them.
It is a household business now and for the unemployed it means quick money
The lanterns range from Rs 25 to Rs 300.
