Shiv Sena legislator Pramod Navalkar on Thursday created a sensation in the Maharashtra Legislative Council when he produced before the House devices used for manufacturing bombs.

They were easily available, he said, adding that Mumbai had become a "den of terrorists".

Navalkar produced gelatine sticks, a timer device and other materials.

Participating in a debate on the last week's motion regarding ills plaguing Mumbai, Navalkar said, "Anti-national elements are getting trained in the city."

Mumbai is "out of the control of the state government", he added.

Navalkar once created a sensation by producing a revolver in the Upper House.

On Thursday he also produced a liquor permit issued in the name of Mohandas K Gandhi by the state excise department.

Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, who was present in the House, asked Navalkar to submit the relevant information to him so that he could immediately initiate action against the those responsible for issuing the permit.

Navalkar said Gandhi was disrespected as girls in Mumbai's dance bars performed on Indian currency notes carrying his photograph. He asked the CM to immediately take steps to stop such acts.
