The passion for animal welfare continued into adulthood and she became an active member of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In a weekly column, she shared her passion and concern for animals with her readers. She was convinced that she had come into this world to make a mark.

After a successful stint as a model, she decided to take up television. She was a popular veejay on MTV and also hosted the Style show on Star World.
