Involved with the development of the Windy 505 from its conception, Major Saurabh Jain was at the parade to show the vehicle.
Developed as a combat support vehicle that can negotiate every possible terrain, Windy has rocket launchers, missiles and machine guns embedded in it. It also has sophisticated radio links, a global position system and a thermal camera system for night vision.
The army compares Windy 505, being exhibited for the first time at the parade, to its world-class competitors. Jain has a dream -- "To see Windy replacing all other contemporary vehicles in the army."
