For many days now several trains and flights have been late due to the fog.
On December 29 Delhi experienced the coldest night of the season, with mercury plummeting to 50 Celsius.
Uttar Pradesh has been the worst hit. Here, icy winds have left more than 90 people dead. Madhya Pradesh and Bihar have lost 10 and 5 people, respectively.
