Six long distance trains bound for Howrah and Sealdah were delayed due to the bandh called by the Maoist Communist Centre and People's War in Bihar and Jharkhand.

The bandh witnessed attacks on railway property by the activists of the two Naxalite outfits.

The attacks caused large-scale disruption in train services in several stations of Dhanbad and Mughalsarai divisions of East Central Railway (ECR), Eastern Railway sources said.

The trains are the New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express, Kalka Mail, Jodhpur Express, Mumbai-Howrah Mail (via Allahabad), Jammu-Tawi Sealdah Express and Gwalior-Howrah Chambal Express, the sources said.

Meanwhile, 2301-up Howrah Rajdhani Express, scheduled to leave Howrah at 4.15 pm on Friday, has been cancelled due to non-arrival of the corresponding down train.

However, the 2313-up Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will run as per schedule today, the sources said.
