Painter M F Husain has been admitted to a private nursing home in Hyderabad after he complained of chest pain, according to his son Shafaat Husain.
Husain, 89, who was to attend a function in Mumbai, was unable to make it as he was recuperating, Shafaat said.
"He has been travelling a lot and has been exerting himself a lot, hence the doctors have advised him complete rest after he complained of fatigue and chest pain," he said.
"He has been asked cut down on his travel and his hectic activity," Shafaat added.
He did not name the nursing home.
