While discussing the Indian-American community's increasing political clout, Wilson waved a copy of the latest issue of India Abroad, the newspaper owned by rediff.com, pointing to the lead story.
"India Abroad has an exclusive, in-depth interview with no less than President George W Bush -- the only one ever given to a South Asian newspaper."
It is, Wilson said, a measure of the importance of the community that President Bush took time off in the midst of a hectic schedule, made further frenetic by the election campaign, to speak to India Abroad National Affairs Editor Aziz Haniffa.
