The Mumbai police on Thursday raided the residence of encounter specialist Daya Nayak on the directive of a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court.
Former journalist Ketan Tirodkar had filled a petition in the court saying Nayak had links with the underworld.
Nayak said the raid was an attempt by Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel to break the morale of the police.
"If Dawood thinks he will succeed, he is wrong," Nayak said.
Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Dr Satya Pal Singh told rediff.com that "we have not found anything during the raid".
Nayak said this was not the first time that Tirodkar had made allegations against him. "He made similar allegations thrice in the past and each time they were found not to be true."
