Pakistan plans to flood Kashmir with suicide squads mainly drawn from renamed Lashker-e-Tayiba in case the ongoing peace initiatives with India fail, a US-based Pakistani web newspaper reports.
Quoting senior Pakistani officials, South Asia Tribune, says LeT is being perferred over Jaish-e-Mohammed because the latter is linked to internationally condemned Al Qaeda and is being closely watched by Washington.
"Islamabad also sees Masood Azhar [JeM leader] as too independent and as becoming too powerful," the paper said.
Jehadi-watchers say LeT chief Hafeez Saeed would be the pointman if Kashmir burns this summer. They point out that
Saeed has close links with Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, the ISI and is in Islamabad's good books.
The newspaper said Lashker, which was nurtured by the ISI, was more amenable to Pakistan's control than Jaish.
