Following the successful heart surgery on his daughter Noor Fatima in Bangalore, Nadeem Sajjad on Wednesday announced the setting up of a fund for treatment of heart ailments in poor Indian and Pakistani kids.
The fund, to be managed by Rotary Associates, has already received an initial contribution of Rs 100,000, Sajjad said in Bangalore.
He himself has donated the Rs 50,000 that was provided by a philanthropist for the treatment of his daughter and a similar amount is being contributed by Rotary Associates, he added.
Sajjad, who had taken the Lahore-Delhi bus on July 11, thanked the people of India for the enormous love and affection shown towards his daughter.
Meanwhile, authorities at the Narayana Hrudayalaya Cardiac Care Hospital said two-and-a-half-year-old Noor was in a stable condition.
They also said one of the patients undergoing treatment at the hospital had donated Rs 12 lakh for the setting up of a cardiac research facility.
