Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is hatching a conspiracy to get jailed independent legislator Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya killed.

He also blamed the police for getting Rajendra Yadav, the prime witness in the Prevention of Terrorism Act case against Raja Bhaiya, eliminated.

"All I can tell you is that I have my own sources in the police and their information cannot be wrong. I am convinced that Raja Bhaiya's life is in danger," he said in Lucknow.

The SP chief accused Mayawati of having set aside all democratic norms and behaving in a 'fascist' manner. He said the chief minister is fabricating evidence against her political rivals.

He said POTA has been misused against Raja Bhaiya and his 73-year-old father Udai Pratap Singh. "This was simply the result of Raja Bhaiya's defiance against the chief minister."

"If Raja Bhaiya had agreed to toe her line and support her, she would not have raised an eyebrow against him."

He said he would organise a demonstration in Lucknow on February 21 against the 'suppression of the peoples' voice and the virtual murder of democracy under Mayawati's regime'.

He asked the youth to assembly in Lucknow to protest against the 'undemocratic and totalitarian measures adopted by the chief minister'.
