Rush hour at Indo-Pak check post

It was rush hour at the Joint Check Post in Wagah on the Indo-Pak border with half a dozen delegations criss-crossing the zero line on Monday.

A 60-member delegation of the Punjab and Haryana high court, besides the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir high court Justice V K Jhanji, crossed over to Pakistan to meet their counterparts.

A four-member delegation of Pakistan Railways returned after talks with their Indian counterparts in Delhi on resuming the Atari-Lahore Samjhauta Express.

A five-member delegation of the India Airlines crossed over to Pakistan to tie up arrangements for the landing and take off of Indian aircraft during the SAARC meet in Islamabad in January, which Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is scheduled to attend.

Pakistan High Commissioner Aziz Ahmed Khan and his wife Asha Khan went home on 10 days leave, officials at the JCP said.

A delegation of 23 school students of the Lahore Grammar School crossed over to India for a sightseeing trip, which will take them to Delhi, Ajmer and Agra.
