Tell us your dreams for India

August 18, 2003

'I want India to be terror-free'

I want India to be a terror-free country. Given a wish, I would collect all terrorists in one place and shoot them down with a gun mercilessly.

Anti-women practises like dowry and the purdah system should come to an end. After all, dowry and purdah are different forms of terrorism. They terrorise women.

In our society, boys are preferred over girls. There should be equal treatment for both. I look forward to a country where there are no child marriages.

I got a lot of money from different organisations when I started my battle against the dowry system. I have opened a separate bank account and kept all the money there. I will use that money to open a school for poor children one day. That's my dream.

Today, what India needs most is a map of India. Everything about India is in there. I like India's culture. It's the best in the world. Our historical monuments are our great assets and we should protect them well.

I want to be a well-settled software engineer. When I got admission in engineering, my teacher asked me: "What are your plans? Want to buy Bill Gates?" I said at least I can try. That is still in my mind.

As told to Ehtasham Khan
