Sixteen people were killed when a boat capsized after being caught in a storm in a river near the Gulf of Cambay in Bharuch district of Gujarat on Thursday.
There were 42 pilgrims on board.
"Fourteen bodies were recovered this morning [Friday]. Two were found during rescue efforts late last night," Bharuch district Superintendent of Police A V Vasava said.
Twenty-five pilgrims swam ashore and one is still missing.
The boat was travelling from Katpar to Jogeshwar in central Gujarat and the mishap took place at the spot where the Narmada river meets the Gulf of Cambay in Bharuch, about 200km from Ahmedabad.
