Three commandos killed in temple operation

Three commandos, one belonging to the National Security Guards and two to the Gujarat police, were killed while trying to flush out terrorists from the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.

An NSG commando and a state police commando died during the operation while another succumbed to injuries in hospital, Gujarat Health Secretary S K Nanda said in Gandhinagar.

Seven commandos -- four from the NSG and three from the state police -- were injured, he said.
