Minorities commission condemns terrorist attack

The National Commission for Minorities has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Swaminarayan temple in Gandhinagar on Tuesday.

In a written note, the commission appealed to the people to maintain unity and harmony "in this hour of crisis".

Several Muslim leaders have also expressed outrage at the incident.

The Movement for Empowerment of Muslim Indians said that the "attack on innocent devotees cannot be justified under any circumstances".

They demanded that the government take all necessary steps to safeguard innocent lives and appealed to the people not to play into the hands of the evil forces.
