US congressional paper on J&K misleading: JKLF

The pro-independence Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front on Saturday dismissed as "misleading" the observations made by a US congressional research paper that an independent Kashmir could turn into a haven for terrorists.

"We deem these reports as self-styled and partisan. We want to make it clear to the world that [the] Kashmir issue revolves around crores of people of Jammu and Kashmir and they alone are the masters to decide it," a JKLF spokesman said in Srinagar.

"Independent Kashmir will work for communal brotherhood, justice and equality and will guarantee peace in the region," the spokesman said.

The JKLF favoured a dialogue between India, Pakistan and Kashmiri leaders to solve the issue, he added.
