Fire in Shastri Bhawan in Delhi

A fire broke out in the multi-storeyed Shastri Bhawan, which houses offices of several Union ministers, in Delhi on Monday evening.

The blaze erupted at around 1905 hours IST in the first floor of the building, which is just a few hundred metres from the Parliament House complex, Delhi Fire Service sources said.

Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Further details are awaited.

The eight-storeyed building houses offices of several ministries, including Petroleum, Information and Broadcasting, Coal and Mines and Fertilisers.
