PM 'much better', will attend RSS meeting

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, suffering from a viral infection, is 'much better' and will meet a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh delegation on Thursday.

A team of doctors examined Vajpayee and was satisfied with the progress, a Prime Minister's Office spokesman said.

Sources said Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and Bharatiya Janata Party president M Venkaiah Naidu will be present at the meeting with RSS leaders K S Sudarshan, H Seshadri and Madan Das Devi.

The meeting comes in the backdrop of growing differences between the Sangh Parivar and the government, especially the strident criticism by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which has demanded the removal of the PM's Principal Secretary, Brajesh Mishra.
