Cracker unit blast kills 4 in Bhagalpur

At least four persons, including a woman and a child, were charred to death in an explosion in a cracker unit in Bhagalpur town in Bihar on Wednesday.

According to the district superintendent of police, the explosion late at night took place in the local Subhas Atishbaj cracker unit.

Eyewitnesses said the blast completely destroyed the building that housed the unit.

Police said that two seriously injured persons have been admitted in a government hospital.

The owner of the cracker unit absconded after the blast and the police are investigating whether the unit was illegal.
