Police firing in Bihar, 2 killed

Two persons, including a panchayat chief, were killed and six injured when police opened fire to disperse a mob, which had attacked a police station in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.

The mob had stormed the Maniyari police station on Thursday evening to protest against the alleged thrashing of one Jaimangal Sah by an assistant sub-inspector at Sitarampur village, police said on Friday.

Tension prevailed in the police station area after the firing and senior police officials were camping at the spot, they added.
