Sonia Gandhi desperate for power: Jaya

N Sathiya Moorthy in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, continuing to address Sonia Gandhi by her maiden name Antonio Maino, said the Congress chief's 'desperation for power' was behind her declaration in Mount Abu that her party was ready to accept a coalition government at the Centre.

The chief minister said she had not been called for campaigning against the Congress and Sonia Gandhi for the upcoming assembly election in Gujarat.

"If invited, I would consider going there," she said.
