Vajpayee to launch power transmission project in Bihar

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will inaugurate a transmission centre of the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited at Pusauli in Rohtas district via videoconference from New Delhi.

The facility has been built at a cost of Rs 7.43 billion.

The 400-kilovolt Pusauli centre would improve power transmission in the central and northern regions of Sasaram, Gaya and Biharsharif in Bihar.

The eastern grid would export 500 megawatts of power to states like Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
