India on Monday blamed Pakistan for the ongoing tensions between the two countries and emphasised that there had been no change in Islamabad's hostility towards New Delhi.
On the eve of US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca's visit to New Delhi, foreign ministry spokesperson Nirupama Rao said: "The lack of action by Pakistan on our list of the 20 terrorists reveals that there is no shift or change in Islamabad's hostile attitude against India."
"The responsibly of the tensions rests squarely on Pakistan," she said, adding that the level of infiltration from across the border had not come down.
Rocca will meet her Indian counterpart, MEA Joint Secretary (Americas) Jayant Prasad, on Tuesday before flying off to Islamabad, Rao said.
She said the talks would cover the situation in the region and the joint secretary would apprise Rocca about "our assessments and point of view of the developments in the region, including the Line of Control".
She, however, refused to comment on reports that Rocca was visiting India and Pakistan in a bid to lower the tension between the two countries, which could possibly lead to a nuclear confrontation.
