Manohar Joshi receives rousing
welcome in Mumbai

Manohar Joshi, on his arrival in Mumbai for the first time after his election as speaker of the Lok Sabha, was on Friday accorded a rousing welcome.

Mayor Mahadev Deole received and garlanded Joshi, who is affectionately known as Sir.

A large number of Shiv Sena leaders, admirers and followers extended tumultuous floral reception to him.

Later, Joshi drove straight to Matoshree, the official residence of Sena chief Bal Thackeray, to seek his blessings.

A large number of cameramen, who had assembled at Matoshree, were, however, kept away from the meeting.

Joshi told newspersons said he would try to conduct the proceedings of the House in an impartial manner and try to take everybody with him.
